Guest ame767
Hi mitch i'll say this as gently as i can. nowhere in your posts re seniority here or on the general side have i seen you mention the 30%(+-) raise you got. perhaps the answer to your dilema is a european type shift premium....we are going into negots. germany (i think it is) pays 33% for mids for example this would drive many of the "advantaged" guys to mids. also you do not mention that those "advantaged" guys will be the first laid off should it come to that....straight date of hire remember? your situation is not unique, i have 16 yrs with the company (all AC) and am on days/mids rotation 5-2 shift...i would almost take a demotion for a straight mids 4x4, trying desperatly right now to do so. so there are a few details you have left out. we all have problems to work out, maybe some of your energy can go towards getting better representation. try to find out more about CAMA. it may hold some solutions but no promises with the adams award. Mitch Cronin
Thanks for being gentle As I said on the other channel here, there's a lot I haven't said... You, me, and a lot of people have been screwed by a system riddled with errors. I don't think it needs to stay that way just because it's always been that way. Believe it or not, my concern is not just for myself. Forgive my brevity, I'm tired... of everything at the moment.
Guest Gadgeteer
"nowhere in your posts re seniority here or on the general side have i seen you mention the 30%(+-) raise you got." Excuse me. Where is my 30% raise? We had our wage reduction removed and were returned to normal salary levels. However, the so-called "increase", cost us many negotiated benefits. "also you do not mention that those "advantaged" guys will be the first laid off should it come to that....straight date of hire remember?" Yes, that is how a layoff should be done… last in first out. "your situation is not unique, i have 16 yrs with the company (all AC) and am on days/mids rotation 5-2 shift...i would almost take a demotion for a straight mids 4x4, trying desperatly right now to do so." If you are an LAT you should have bid on Mids. I have over 22 years and ended up on mids. Not what I want either.
