Guest ken hickerson
So, by now everyone who is qualified (IN THE COMPANY/UNION'S EYES) should already have received their lay-off from the lead position. I wonder why, yet again, we do not receive proper lay-off rights? Further I listened in on the friday conference call of the line maint. managers and according to them, the seniority list is being fought over by both sides of the union. They also said not to worry it will be ready by dec 08. HMMMM just in time to screw the CAIL portion out of their right to a paid move. How many more times, and how many more ways can tech-ops be kicked in the nards? Only Dave Richey knows.

Guest Canmech
Hi Frenchy,The LLAT bid letters have been just distributed today on the ramp in YVR, with the Heavy Mtce letters to come out Monday.AC management in YVR seems to be misinformed and in turn misleading the mechanics by stating that an LLAT that elects to 'not' take a position in the next 72 hours would be placed on list 1 of the LAT list with the chance at future recall rights. This definitely is 'not' the case!An LLAT which elects to 'not' take this position forfeits all rights to recall and will be placed on list 2 of the LAT list.It is definitely going to interesting to say the least in the next few weeks. The majority of senior LLAT's in YVR seem to be on the ramp but to retain an LLAT position many will have to run a crew in Heavy Mtce. The majority of these LLAT candidates have little or no overhaul/inspection experience.Should be interesting!Later Canmech!
