Back in the day, some unlimited hydroplanes were powered by the Merlins.... a number crashed and sank. Looking at this one I wonder if the shape is the result of exposure to salt water. Don Hudson Posted August 2, 2021 Share Posted August 2, 2021 I had heard that there was a Merlin belonging to a private owner hanging around the Vancouver area but location was never mentioned. st27 Posted August 5, 2021 Share Posted August 5, 2021 Don’t think buddy is going to get his price….the hydros almost always used merlins….they were cheap and plentiful back in the day…now using lycoming turbines….
