deicer Posted July 19, 2020 Share Posted July 19, 2020 Have seen on Flightradar24 many balloons from Project Loon over the mid-west and the Carribbean. They are usually at 50,000 feet and above, and are a fair size. ILB Posted July 21, 2020 Share Posted July 21, 2020 Yes, seen over northern Ontario some time ago, perhaps 2 years. ATC said distance 35 miles, 2 o'clock, Google balloon testing internet access. North of You Posted July 23, 2020 Share Posted July 23, 2020 I haven’t seen one in the Caribbean, but I did see a NASA balloon back in the day while doing a very early morning flight from Winnipeg to north west of Thompson that was launched out of Lynn Lake. It was the first time I thought I saw a UFO. one minute it wasn’t there...the next minute there was this big a$$ thing floating in the sky, being lit up by the sun.
