Kip Powick
Re Boat....I don't ever want to be on any boat that has me and 4904 other passengers and about 2000+ crew members no matter how spectacular the inside is.. I get antsy being in line in a bank with only 3 people ahead of me Just too crowded but I think it will be quite a while before they ever see a "full" load and boats near that size are generally referred to as a " floating petri dish "...

Seeker
I'm quite proud of myself as I managed to do something today that I've been trying to do for about 40 years - I watched The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Extended, Director's version) for start to finish without falling asleep! The trick is to start watching it at 1:00 PM instead of 10:00 PM. I'm a big Tarantino fan and he says it's his favourite movie. I have to say that I really don't think the extended Civil War desolation scenes (the extended part) add much to the story. It's on Netflix if anyone feels up to the challenge. Analytical data Male…….. is using “flute” glasses which are normally poured at 4 oz (Champagne) Female… is using white wine glasses, (although they look like red wine glasses), and poured at 5 oz Male starts with 48 oz of champagne = or almost 2 bottles of bubbles (25 oz/bottle) on the table Female starts with 60 oz of white wine = 2.2 bottles of wine……….…(25 oz/bottle) on the table When any “checker” is “ kinged” it looks like they double the amount of bubbly and drink it Cigarettes appear about 40 seconds into the game so based on the length of the game, and the amount of drinking, (most smokers smoke more when drinking), we can assume 2 cigarettes each per game. Conclusion…..If this couple plays checkers in this manner every night they are leaning toward alcoholism or if that doesn’t get them, then in the longer term, cancer from excessive smoking may be their downfall. However, this video, being TikTok, is probably a set-up and I would think, maybe, perhaps….apple juice and water??? I hear my wine fridge calling and almost supper time….CYA

I have spent near entire days with spacious lounges all to myself and some of the most spectacular scenery you could imagine to quietly look out upon. Not even the occasional waiter asking if I needed something to bother me. And some of the shore excursions let me do things I'll never have the chance to do or see again. And the food - wow. On the other hand - the Caribbean ones - wall to wall people and noise - good grief. The kids like it though. They're cheap and they're safe for the kids Edited January 29, 2021 by Specs

Our conversations always seem to come back to it so the wife and I are gonna redo the Antarctic one on NCL again. We had a side trip to the Falklands and some off roading that was like something out of National Geographic, Blue Planet and Animal Kingdom all rolled into one. Just incredible

Just incredible We use Princess, we like the set dining times (I hate waiting in line). As with you I have never experienced any crowds (even on the larger ships at 3400 or so pax. Lots of open space and areas that one can enjoy their privacy. Balconies are what we book. Being on a limited fixed (non indexed) pension, we are used to budgeting so we only travel when we have saved enough money to pay for the trip. A330PilotCanada
Good Afternoon All: For those who enjoy WW 2 History I would strongly recommend Mark Felton. He does excellent research and puts together remarkable 15-minute clips. The hyperlink below is one of his audio books (Bridge Busters) of 15 chapters describing the early days of WW 2 Bomber Command. The history of bombing the aqueducts which held up delivery of barges to be converted to landing craft for operation Sea Lion was something I was not aware of. I have included a short biography of Dr Felton as well. https://youtu.be/Ao_UWCUtJPg Mark Felton (born 1974) is a British YouTuber, author, and historian of the Second World War. He has written over 20 books and nearly 400 history shorts on YouTube. While his main focus is on World War II, he also produces works on the Cold War, and other military-related events of the 20t After completing a bachelor's degree and an MA, Felton earned a PhD in history from the University of Essex in 2005. In 2017 Felton started his own YouTube channel, Mark Felton Productions, which explores numerous historic subjects. By January 2021 his channel had exceeded one million subscribers. On November 26, 2019, Felton created a second channel by the name of War Stories with Mark Felton, on which he posts recordings of himself reading various books that he has written, usually in parts. By January 2021 this channel had accumulated 138,000 subscribers.

The only time we were in the room was "bed-time" and the rest of the time we sat on the balcony, sometimes until 1-1:30am. after the shows...Baileys and ice. I guess if there are more than 2 in the party, I really don't think it is worth the extra. My brother-in-law books "inside cabin and the only time they are there is during sleep and he goes as cheap as he can. I booked with an agent in Texas and I told him what I wanted, including "free " gratuities, and $300.for the Casino. We always booked our wedding Anniversary so they threw in a free bottle of wine, complimentary supper in the "elite" dining room at no charge and a two person Anniversary cake.. I sent a note to the Captain on one trip asking if I could go tour the bridge, but he apologized and said it was against company policy but in my note, I stated that I was a retired Military Pilot so he "thanked me for my service", and another "free" bottle of wine showed up in my room. I have a buddy who has done about 20 cruises. He used to spend the winter in Florida and they would drive to the boats and see what was available.... $300/00 person...free grats etc ..7 days in the Caribbean once !!! Even with all the cheap trips he got a Captains Gold Card and lots of perqs when out at sea.
