Police believe a fire that destroyed an aircraft at an airport east of Toronto was deliberately set.

At 11:30 p.m. Thursday, emergency crews were dispatched to Buttonville Airport in Markham for reports of a plane on fire.

The aircraft, a Dassault Falcon 50 tri-jet, was parked outside of a hangar when the fire started.

It’s also reported that the aircraft that the aircraft was 1980 vintage, had been flown in a couple months ago and just sat there. Still registered US.....maybe caught in the ADS b backlog.....any thoughts or gossip?

I always liked the look of the Falcons (the 10 not so much)

Flown to YKZ in October and hasn’t moved since. Registered to a Trustee. Hmm, nothing suspicious about that. Maybe they were trying to keep it out of the hands of the Airplane Repo guys.

I wouldn't trust flight tracking sites to accurately reflect movements of private aircraft and there is nothing unusual about aircraft being registered in the United States by a trustee.
