White House considering sending gas rebate cards to Americans: report

Cool, after you pay for your own gas, you can buy some for your neighbour. That would be the same neighbour who cheered when you got fired earlier this year.

In the long run, messing with peoples children might serve as the downfall of the woke movement. You can bet that those who didn't pay attention to the antics and machinations of liberal madness before will take note as soon as it hurts their kids.

Although they never anticipated this level of manifest buffoonery, It's what authors of The Federalist Papers referred to as an inducement to war. Hint for liberals; avoiding deliberate inducements to war (especially civil war) is usually a good idea.

it's in the same book as trapping vulnerabilities before they take large mouthfuls out of your butt.... can a liberal actually read a calendar or do they get stuck trying to eat the dates?

There is little doubt that America is experiencing an unprecedented fatherless crisis. Approximately 80% of single-parent homes are led by single mothers; therefore, leading to nearly 25% of our youth growing up without a father in the home.

This staggering statistic has not only destroyed the nuclear family but has devastated communities across the nation. For example, 85% of children and teens with behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes, and over 70% of all adolescent patients in drug and alcohol treatment centers originate from homes without fathers.

An appropriate quote / observation for Father's Day IMO.

Each of these societal changes, taken individually is relatively innocuous on its own. It's the combined effect coupled with the refusal to even admit the problem (lest thou be deemed racist) that ensures failure.

Total pressure is the sum of the individual partial pressures... I seem to recall that being a rule during my SDO diving course. Take a moment and consider the number of tailgaters you encounter over the course of a week, talk to any one of them about the effects of velocity squared, reaction time, friction coefficients or brake effectiveness and they'll become offended and hostile. It's still a real thing though, and the Goddess of Reality doesn't care if they believe it or not.

Experience doesn't solve the problem either, after your trailer hitch is firmly embedded in their radiator they'll blame you for stopping.

Cool watching this though, we've already exceeded the upper levels of buffoonery I was expecting and there seems to be no end in sight.

In the fullness of time, as irreversible, life altering procedures become the very definition of regret for a new generation, it will make the motives behind residential schools look pure and honourable by comparison.

Now this is funny!

SpaceX has reportedly fired the employees who released an open letter this week criticizing CEO Elon Musk and referring to his recent behavior as a “distraction and embarrassment” to the company.

Criticizing the guy who created the company and who also happens to be the majority owner and CEO of the company you work for.

As Bugs Bunny would say - "What a bunch of Maroons!"

https://globalnews.ca/news/8931896/nova-scotia-health-care-workers-struggle-recruit-retain/

This is what happens when you fail to connect the dots on retention vs attrition, and training vs operational tempo in experience intensive occupations that have training / qualification inertia.

The MBA crew don't seem to grasp this nor do the defund police advocates. In comparison to pilots and medical staff though, policing is an easier fix with a shorter event horizon. But beware, mass hiring presents challenges of its own... not the least of which is recruiting the same sort of people who caused the defund movement in the first place. Making a job less attractive to recruits virtually assures it. POOF... you are stuck with poor choices for decades (some attaining leadership positions) because you failed to address the real issue... which was always leadership.

There is simply no substitute for leadership and leadership accountability. Retaining and deploying "bad COPS" isn't a systemic racism issue... It's a leadership issue.

Gun crime in Toronto isn't a gun problem it's an ethnic gang problem and border control issue. Failing to say the words, identify the problem, and fix the bloody problem is a leadership problem.

Wokeness, identity politics and political correctness are the mortal enemies of leadership. The slide continues and accelerates in its presence because you never address real issues or root problems. That's what makes all of this so predictable. If you think olympic competitors, IPSC, CAS PRC participants, and duck hunters from PEI are causing all this then YOU are the problem.

Want more.... stay the course and you'll get it.

Street gangs expanding turf to smaller Ontario communities: Police chiefs

Street gangs are primarily involved in drug and firearms trafficking, weapons offences, human trafficking and robberies, the report said.

From the WDYTWGTH file.

They've been left unchecked for too long, of course they'll expand the enterprise, why wouldn't they? I'm wondering what took them so long, if I were war chief, I'd have started long ago and I'd already own the turf. Now they'll fight over it.

Can y'all guess what that means... yup, more duck hunters, and now they'll be shooting up your town.

I take a bit of comfort in the notion that people in smaller towns tend to be less crazy than large, liberal, urban centres. Perhaps they'll come up with cause factors other than systemic racism in the police force and law abiding gun owners running amuck on the streets.

I'd say it's actually here now. I'm a believer...

I've posed the question to a few hgh time folks currently working in other fields (I'll include myself in the answer as well):

Q/ If AA called with the offer of a Green Card, assisted relocation, and DEC on heavy metal would you take it?

A/ NO

- An anecdotal observation to be sure, but it doesn't bode well for the short term industry outlook IMO.

While several provinces have mulled the idea of giving drivers a break on their gas taxes, the federal government rejected it out of hand this week with Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson saying it would be “irresponsible.” From a purely economic perspective, he has a point; with Canada facing ever-spiralling inflation, making a scarce commodity cheaper is likely to make everything worse. However, the Trudeau government has suspiciously refused to follow this philosophy in all of the non-gas aspects of their budgeting. Just last week, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland promised to address inflation by pouring even more deficit-financed money into our already overheated economy.

The National Post’s John Ivison is the latest pundit to notice that the Liberals conspicuously stopped trying as soon as the NDP effectively gave them a majority government in March. The Supply and Confidence Agreement inked between the two parties offered a handful of budget goodies (such as subsidized dental care) in exchange for an NDP promise to keep Trudeau in power until 2025. “The prospect of losing your job in the next year or so concentrates the mind,” wrote Ivison, “instead, this government is comfortable and complacent.”

Bill C-11 – which would give the CRTC unprecedented power to control the programming on streaming services such as YouTube and Netflix – has passed the House of Commons with NDP and Bloc Québécois support. Peter Menzies, a former vice-chair of the CRTC, is very disheartened that “the world’s most extensive internet regulation legislation so far” has gotten this far. In a column for The Line, he credited the bill’s passage to a relentless campaign of intimidation, debate-stifling and – where possible – outright lies. “That opprobrious gaslighting strategy and all the imperious overtones that it implies worked for Donald Trump,” he wrote. “And, right now, it’s working just fine for those governing Canada.”

Idiots.  Motorcycles are not nearly as dangerous as a politician with an agenda.  BTW, what is it with Democratic politicians and bulldozers?  Some sort of weird fascination - Daley bulldozing Meigs Field in Chicago, Adams bulldozing 100 motorcycles.

Expansion will continue until the dots are connected and meaningful action taken.

Remember Dominion Day?

The celebrations, which news reports have said will be called “New Day,” will feature “spaces for healing, with Indigenous-led music, dance, and sacred fires,” food trucks and picnic spots, “family-friendly, multicultural entertainment,” including Indigenous games, a chalk and bubble station and an oral history tour with Indigenous elders.

https://nationalpost.com/news/cancel-cultures-new-target-renaming-canada-day-events-in-winnipeg-sparks-controversy

Or, we could address real issues, maybe fix the clean water problem and honour promises previously given in the form of treaty rights... remember Donald Marshall and the eel nets? That had to go to the supreme court.

Re-read the bold type paragraph.... let me suggest by way of analogy that veterans don't care if you rename a highway (at least I sure don't). Give that old gunner the hearing aids he needs and stop blowing liberal smoke into my nether regions.

Roe v Wade: US Supreme Court strikes down abortion rights

Abortion rights activists and anti-abortion activists rally at the Supreme Court on Thursday

Millions of women in the US will lose the legal right to abortion, after the Supreme Court overturned a 50-year-old ruling that legalised it nationwide.

The court struck down the landmark Roe v Wade decision, weeks after an unprecedented leaked document suggested it favoured doing so.

The judgement will transform abortion rights in America, with individual states now able to ban the procedure.

Half of US states are expected to introduce new restrictions or bans.

Thirteen have already passed so-called trigger laws that will automatically outlaw abortion following the Supreme Court's ruling. A number of others are likely to pass new restrictions quickly.

In total, abortion access is expected to be cut off for about 36 million women of reproductive age, according to research from Planned Parenthood, a healthcare organisation that provides abortions.

The Supreme Court had been considering a case, Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Organization, that challenged Mississippi's ban on abortion after 15 weeks.

But the conservative-majority court ruled in favour of the state by a vote of six to three along ideological lines - effectively ending the constitutional right to an abortion.

"We therefore hold that the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion... and the authority to regulate abortion must be returned to the people and their elected representatives," part of the judgement read.

The ruling amounts to a wholesale reversal of the Supreme Court's own legal precedent - an extremely rare move - and is likely to set up political battles that divide the nation.

In states where opinions on abortion are closely split - such as Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin - the legality of the procedure could be determined on an election-by-election basis. In others, the ruling may set off a new round of legal battles, including over whether individuals can go out of state for abortions or order abortion drugs through mail services.

A map shows which states have legislation prepared to affect abortion in the event of Roe v Wade being overturned

Democratic governors of several states including California, New Mexico and Michigan have already announced plans to enshrine abortion rights within their constitutions if Roe v Wade is overturned.

US Vice-President Kamala Harris also met with the Democratic attorney-generals of seven states on Thursday to discuss how to defend abortion rights, Reuters news agency reported.

The landmark 1973 Roe v Wade case saw the Supreme Court rule by a vote of seven to two that a woman's right to terminate her pregnancy was protected by the US constitution.

The ruling gave American women an absolute right to an abortion in the first three months (trimester) of pregnancy, but allowed for restrictions in the second trimester and for prohibitions in the third.

But in the decades since, anti-abortion rulings have gradually pared back access in more than a dozen states.

Rioting after a monumental Supreme Court abortion ruling caused "significant criminal damage" to the Arizona State Capitol on Friday night, according to authorities.

The mobs of people, who were dispersed by Arizona State Troopers using tear gas, created a "direct threat" to the Senate, which was in session at the time, and prompted occupants of the building to seek cover, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said Saturday. The rioters branched off from a group of an estimated 7,000 to 8,000 people who descended upon the complex in Phoenix to protest over the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade and ending the nearly 50-year nationwide right to an abortion.

"What began as a peaceful protest evolved into anarchical and criminal actions by masses of splinter groups. As groups realized the state legislature was in session, they attempted to breach the doors of the Arizona Senate and force their way into the building," DPS said in a statement. "The violence of their efforts literally shook the building and terrified citizens and lawmakers who occupied the building. As the glass doors bowed from attempts of forced entry, the occupants of the building were instructed to move to secure locations."

Videos posted to social media showed scenes from those hectic moments. Among them was a video showing the moment that the Senate, which was in session, was cleared by President Karen Fann, citing a "security situation." Individual lawmakers shared their accounts of those chaotic moments, and some made comparisons to the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and the investigations that followed.

"We are currently there being held hostage inside the Senate building due to members of the public trying to breach our security. We smell teargas and the children of one of the members are in the office sobbing with fear. I expect a J24 committee to be created immediately," tweeted state Sen. Kelly Townsend (R-AZ).

Arizona State Troopers "took immediate action and utilized tactics including the deployment of field force teams and tear gas," because of the "direct threat to the occupants of the Senate building and damage to the building itself," DPS said. "As the riotous behavior at the Legislature was taking place, concurrent and spillover criminal misconduct in the form of felony criminal damage and the defacing of state memorials was occurring in Wesley Bolin Plaza."

The statement from DPS shared a list and images of the damaged memorials and properties. Among them were the Wesley Bolin Memorial Amphitheatre, the 158th Regimental Memorial, the Arizona Peace Officers Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Memorial, the Operation Enduring Freedom Memorial, and the Lt. Frank Luke Jr. Memorial.

"Troopers exercised patience and application of tactics in Wesley Bolin Plaza as some people unwisely brought children to the protest turned unlawful assembly," DPS said. "After multiple warnings, and notifications of trespass and unlawful assembly, state troopers deployed gas and strategically moved to clear the plaza. After the plaza was cleared, additional state buildings in the area sustained criminal damage."

No arrests were made at the State Capitol on Friday night, according to a 12 News reporter, citing a DPS spokesman. However, the DPS statement on Saturday said the "incident status" remains active.

Demonstrators rallied outside the Supreme Court and around the country since the 5-4 ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturned Roe, returning the fight over abortion rights to the states.

Gov. Doug Ducey (R-AZ) signed a bill into law in March banning most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. Attorney General Mark Brnovich said the new 15-week ban would go into effect in about 90 days.

As a man, I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I like it or not, makes me privileged, a racist, and responsible for slavery.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascist because I plan, budget, and support myself.

I went to High School, University and have always held a job.

But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was "advantaged".

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel.

I am older than 70, making me a useless eater who doesn't understand Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat.

I think and I reason, and I doubt much of what the ‘main stream’ media tells me, which makes me a Right-wing conspiracy nut.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive Canadian culture, making me a xenophobe.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to

each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort - not freedom of outcome or subsidies which must make me a borderline sociopath.

I believe in the defence and protection of Canada for and by all citizens, now making me a militant.

I am proud of our flag, what it stands for, and the many who died to let it fly, so I stand during our National Anthem - so I must be a racist.

Please help me come to terms with the new me because I'm just not sure who I am anymore !

Funny - it all took place over the last 7 or 8 years! If all this nonsense wasn't enough to deal with, now I don't even know which restroom to use... and these days I gotta go more frequently.
