blues deville
Although a verbal contract is considered binding, if any airline makes a promise of compensation at the gate for giving up a seat, I think you should ask for a paper document with the agreed amount. I’ve heard those gate calls for volunteers (usually in the US) but I’ve never been in a position to give up my seat. I suppose being a law professor helped this customer’s argument but most of us don’t have that title. https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/air-canada-reneges-on-compensation-after-passenger-volunteers-seat-1.4998780?utm_source=skies-daily-news-news-from-the-web&utm_campaign=skies-daily-news&utm_medium=email&utm_term=news-news-from-the-web&utm_content=V1
