Trader
Not sure what he was thinking. Though the footage is nice. https://dronedj.com/2018/07/18/what-on-earth-is-this-guy-thinking-flying-his-drone-next-to-an-a380-taking-of-from-mauritius/

st27
Time for the avionics manufacturers to come up with some kind of technology to overcontrol these things...like tcas, to avoid collisions. Or we could get Garneau to demand a worldwide ban....there, problem solved!
Guest
Just too bad that the 380 Wake didn't knock the drone out of the sky,
boestar
I suspect he is farther away than it appears. With a 4K camera you can zoom in pretty good and retain clarity. Camera lenses can play tricks with perspective
Kip Powick
Not even close....Illegal to be in the zone , but of no consequence, have seen traffic in LAX closer than that. What about the camera the drone had?? Perhaps a bit of zoom?? Who knows but it certainly did not cause a problem
DEFCON
I don't know much about cameras, but if the aircraft was as close to the lens as it appears, wouldn't the plane be moving across the field of view at a far quicker pace than we see in the clip? gator
Of course, by posting a link to sites like this, we just encourage more of this type of illegal and potentially destructive activity. Almost like making terrorists and mass murderers immortal by publishing their names, pictures, life stories and manifestos... it just encourages others to follow in their footsteps.
