Guest Posted December 31, 2017 Share Posted December 31, 2017 A neighbour was booked from YCD to YYC on Dec. 28th (WestJet), flights cancelled due wx and appears to maybe arriving in YYC on the 30th. At the same time AC had flights delayed but operated a few hours behind schedule. My question re WestJet, are we seeing the results of very tight crew and aircraft scheduling vs AC with perhaps more flex?.. In other words is WestJet becoming over extended? I think aircraft tails assigned to Westjet’s route structure can play havoc with their on time performance. Add in weather delays which might not be at your location and you’re screwed. Also perhaps holiday crew scheduling issues. End of the month for flight/cabin crew and many of their work schedules are multi/day pairings. Hard to find people when they’ve made plans.
