As the mainliner sector and particularly its narrowbody products enjoys an orders and production boom, regional aircraft manufacturers are having a considerably tougher time. Boeing, for example, currently builds almost as many 737s per month (47) as Bombardier can count in its 50-unit firm backlog for the Q400-series twin-turboprop.
