Guest
Now if he had been flying a F18 and lined up to land at a decommissioned airport...... or confused a Chinook with proof of climate change.
Super 80
The markings on the 20L end of 2R/20L leave something to be desired.

But, the taxiway had NO markings at all except the vertical signs in yellow and black........... LOL!
blues deville
A great Hollywood actor who owns a beautiful DHC2 Beaver but anytime I've seen him interviewed on tv (Kimmel,Fallon, Live w/Kelly, etc) he generally sounds like he has some kind of mental issue. Land on a taxiway at a busy airport you'd better have a good reason. Last time I did was on YTR's Papa taxiway and with full permission of the tower due to a full circuit of C130's. DEFCON
Having money & fame doesn't necessarily mean someone's going to be a competent aviator. To overfly a crossways B - 737 and then drop your aircraft onto a taxiway during day VFR conditions says much about the pilot's skillset.
Boney
Agreed Defcon. To land on a taxiway, intentional or otherwise, is one thing. To overfly the B737, as you stated, does question his "airmanship". This usually could result is one's loss of license till one gets some "retraining". Leeroy
This a weird and wonderful little airport. When holding short of of 20 left, you can read the tire manufacturer of the light aircraft going by, it's not unusual to get very close. No defense here, just sayin... Super 80
In a sane world (which Orange County isn't) either commercial or general aviation would be relocated to El Toro.

Seeker
Only someone who isn't a pilot would be surprised about someone landing on a taxiway instead of a runway. Once you've picked out the "runway" you no longer think about where it is and instead think about aiming at the right spot, the right speed, the right rate-of-descent etc. Unless you train yourself to add; "right runway?" every 3rd cycle through the "right spot?, right speed? right descent?" mental scan you'll eventually find yourself on a taxiway wondering how it happened. vanishing point
I like to think those BIG numbers (and sometimes a letter) aren't painted on a runway just to designate its magnetic heading. They're also useful as a confirmation that one is actually landing on the appropriate runway...
