OTTAWA — Federal numbers released quietly by the government late last month are painting a bleak picture of Canada's financial future — one filled with decades of deficits.

The report, published on the Finance Department website two days before Christmas, predicts that barring any policy changes the federal government could be on track to run annual shortfalls until at least 2050-51.

I guess the difference between the present and previous governments is that the previous realized you cannot spend and tax a country into prosperity. If this theory worked, Greece, Italy and Spain would be economic superstars, instead of beggars being propped up by the EU.

The deeper in debt a jurisdiction goes, the harder it is to dig out. We will see how painful it is in Ontario when the Feds tell Wynne there is a reduction in transfers for health care. And when interest rates rise, watch out.

And unemployable carbon producing humans from the third world continue to pour in ...

Can anyone anywhere provide a rational justification for ongoing immigration into this Country? IOW's, is there an identifiable need, or is the entire program just a costly PC sham?
