AME
from the airliners discussion Yeah, that's a pretty neat video to watch. Imagine if mechanics waited to do that first wet-engine run with a full load of passengers onboard, after pushback, and in the dark! I'd pay to see the expressions on the passenger's faces! I've seen this very thing a couple of times on the 146, we used to get a small amount of moisture in the P3 bellows which had a tendency to freeze when parked outside in Edmonton overnight in winter this caused full fuel on start which resulted in a rather fast rise in EGT and an aborted start (sometimes 2 depending on the crew ) The standard fix was to warm up the FCU with a heater and then try another start, this usually resulted in a rather dramatic AB effect the trick was trying to look calm cool and collected for all the faces in the windows watching your every move jbf
Guest
He must have had an ingiter fail on the CFM, and instead of waiting for the fuel to blow out of the chamber he switched to ingnition 2 and Kaboom, seen it happen a few times.
