High cost of travel

I am surprised at how low was the transportation component.

Over the past 12 months, I managed to visit 19 countries (Australia, Cambodia, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, Vietnam).

I hit up 62 different cities.

I travelled 24,613 miles.

I took 15 flights.

I slept in 35 beds.

Outside of north america, travel by air can be had for very low prices if you are willing to make the sacrifices.  Easy Jet and Ryanair are dirt cheap.

With the emphasis on "dirt", especially in the case of Ryanair. Personally, I'd rather walk.

Flew Easy Jet from London to Spain and had no issues with the flight.  You just have to expect....well ... nothing.  That way you get what you expect. 4 days in spain, hotel and airfare included for 149 pounds.  You cannot beat that.
