blues deville
I've flown into this place once. Not much of an airport as I recall. Anyone recognize what flap setting is being used? It doesn't look like much. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=KMbwIARkZec&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DKMbwIARkZec
J.O.
Whatever flap setting it was, at also went out very late. Obviously I don't have all of the facts but it sure looks like somebody was in a hurry.
fenderbender
No more than flap 5.
Mitch Cronin
I think they were still moving on landing.
Boney
At start of video, looks like they were high, so they retracted flaps back to zero, probably to dive to get lower, then flattened out the descent, and look like flaps 15 on touch down.To add insult to injury, the passengers were clapping and joking while the pilot came on the PA to command, "Stay Seated", all the while not realizing how it could have turned out.Ouch..... J.O.
Not being very familiar with the type, can someone who flies the 737 NG tell us if the flaps on this aircraft will auto-retract at certain speeds / flap settings? Thanks!
Mitch Cronin
Flaps weren't out at the start of the vid... speed brakes were up a touch, that was the gap you saw, but you can see the back end of the flap canoes were up tight to the trailing edge
Boney
Mitch,You are correct....at first it did look like it was out. Oops on my part.Cheers
blues deville
for some reason I can not view the video posted in the first post, is this the same one? Seems to show flaps deployed before touchdown.(around min1.45 of the video)Not even close to a stabilized approach.
