Seeker
I'm glad it worked out but I don't know if it was worth the risk.
Kip Powick
As an RCAF pilot trainee, on my 3rd solo trip in a Harvard, at RCAF Station Penhold Alberta I had to do the same thing...The left main gear would not come down on my Harvard...A couple of heavy smacks on the runway on just the right main caused the left main to come down...and lock.....oh happy day !!.And yes...I was scared sh**less doing it but a Harvard instructor talked me through...... it from the tower... boestar
This is not the first time I have seen this maneuver done to "Shake" things loose. There was a 737 years back that did this with a main gear as well as a couple of others.Glad it worked out.
