I bought a new car in January 2010.It came with XM RADIO. After the initial free 3 month trial, I was offered a 1 year plan. I elected to wait until the last minute to buy it and got it for approximately $85 down from $140. Last week I received a notice that my plan is about to expire along with an offer to renew.

I was shocked at the amount they are requesting for a 2 year plan. The 2 year plan is $329.78 + taxes. Does that jive with what everyone's paying? Should I just let it expire and get a better deal?

I have XM PC..my yearly renewal is about $100.00USD..... (my son in SLC renews it for me as he "gifted" the equipment to me)

Most INet sites have a 2 year fee at about $275.00USD (includes 3 months free)

If you want to read some "stories" about customer service with XM..go here......................... http://www.consumeraffairs.com/home_electronics/xm.html

I was able to bargain it down to $100 for 12 months when I renewed in June, although I don't think I am going to renew - more because the hardware is terrible than anything else.

Thanks. I shall wait til the last minute and see what happens.
