AME
Just a quick heads up.... that little lever on the left side of the steering column is for the "Signal Lights" these are used when one is turning a corner AND when changing lanes
J.O.
Sadly many seem to think that reaching for that little lever is far less important than holding their cafe latte or their Blackberry. :-/
Kip Powick
Your title says "Ontario Drivers" and I know we have lots of folks here in YYC that are from Ontario but they just simply can not account for the number of fools who also don't know what that lever is for. Mind you the same crowd doesn't know about the 2 second rule when following another vehicle either, much as I would like to blame that on Ontario drivers........... Ontario has a system for indicating to other drivers who are the good drivers and who are the bad drivers. The vast majority of bad drivers all have licence plates with a white background and blue numbers/letters

Moon The Loon
My favourite is being number 2 behind a red light with cars behind you, cars to the right of you. The light turns green, the guy ahead goes nowhere, those on the right set sail. I toot the horn. The driver ahead inches ahead then turns on left turn signal. That's when I wish I could switch to guns...
boestar
Ok Freezing rain in YYZ this morning... Quite slippery so moving slower than normal. I am on the 401 in the middle lane and some idiot flies up behind me and comes with a blonde one of my bumper. AND STAYS THERE. Now I drive a 13 year old honda thats on its las legs so I could give a rats pituti if this guy wants to play dent the bumber with me heck I could get a replacement car for a while. So mister kiss my a$$, at 6km/h nuzzling my tush is getting on my nerves because, as we all know the 401 is a basket case in the morning (and afternoon and night). So I "Touch" the brakes...Well touch and hammer could be used interchangeable here, but only for a second and enought to make my nose dive. Apparently i scared the living CRAP out of mister tushy nuzzler because he hung back quite a ways after that. As a side note 2 or 3 semis could have pulled in front of me with the space I leave in front. Oddly enough none did...if youare going to tail gate, tailgate a car that someone may actually care about. If I get rear ended its NOT my fault. AME
Wow I post this here and this afternoon the big signs on the 401 were telling me to look and signal before changing lanes
boestar
The other thing is that it does absolutely NO GOOD to signal the lane change AFTER you have changed lanes. Or even better ONE FLASH when halfway into the other lane. WTF is that. why even bother at that point? you may have already caused an accident. And Tonight on the way home some dolt in a BMW (remember its icy out there) doing what I would estimate at around 135 Km/h made 6 lane changes in under a Km. Mind you he signalled every one but theis was accross all 4 lanes of traffic and had I been going 5 km/h faster he would have clipped my fender. I wish guys that drive like this woule a) get caught get into a single car accident so no one else gets hurt.Idiots
