conehead
That's awesome, but I'm wondering why the phone wouldn't have transmitted it's GPS coordinates throughout the entire flight?
boestar
distance from the cell towers. You are only good for about 3 miles at best on a cell phone. Ever tried to use one on a plane? Also at lower altitudes the phone will attempt to connect to more than one cell at a time which will fail.
Seeker
Well sure it's cool except I'd hate to fly into the thing at 400 Knots. Their website is already talking about the "next mission" and I have no doubt that we'll see lots of people trying to duplicate or surpass the results - the next guy will send up two balloons and two cameras. Just what we need.Brooklyn Space Program
Moon The Loon
I'm wondering if the older brother doesn't start thinking "Well if we can send a camera up, how about my little brother?"
