Cargo Agent
Anyone have any experience flying on this airline. I need to get from PEK to PVG/SHA and this is one option. The other is a 10 hour trip on the "Bullet" Train. Price is virtually the same. All this is conditional on getting to PEK. Love standby travel. Hey CA Have put pax on China Eastern in the past, they said the service was good, fairly modern aircraft. Good reputation as far as I know. If you have the time to spare and the train is during the day, the train sounds like fun.
Cargo Agent
Thanks manwest, I might do the train another time as it does sound great but this is a quick 4 day trip and 10 hours on a train cuts into sightseeing time in PEK. CA

It's one of the first things on our "ToDo" list when we get to PVG.
Super 80
Their A300's and MD-90's are getting to be pretty funky, but have to be better than the trains - which can just be gross.

The MAGLEV only goes about half way from the airport to downtown. You'll need to take a cab or the subway the rest of the way. Best to have something in writing in chinese to show to the the cab driver to tell him which hotel you want to go to. English is rare among cab drivers. Top speed was 433 km when I rode it a couple of years ago. Very smooth accel and decel. Henry
