Sadly this is the way things have developed. sad.gif

Similar in Australia, it used to be necessary to use 2 Appropriately Licenced LAMEs for a Dual Certification/Inspection, then it was that the second inspection can be by any LAME, now even a Pilot can do the second inspection. sad.gif

Our MPM/MCM still reuires both signaturs to be appopriately rated AMEs. This is a company thing. TC only specifies the MINIMUM requirement.

You're right, but only if one is available sad.gif there are other options.

The point I was hoping people would pick up on is that on a privately reg aircraft the second signature can be anybody, so long as the AME is comfortable they know what to look for blink.gif

The AME may also consider other forms of proof that provide an equivalent level of assurance.  These qualifications must, however, be assessed and accepted before the work in question takes place
