Guest CSSA
If things are really as dire as Robert, Calin, Victor etc. would have us all believe, why are they offering VSP's to certain management positions? Could these jobs not just be cut as thousands of others were? I just can't get my head around why they would offer an incentive for people to leave when they don't have to. dagger
The severance requirements for a non-union person are different than for the unionized individual. It's cheaper to package out than fire managers...
Fido
Non unionized people are not entirely without rights. They cannot just be dismissed. There are standards for compensation for years of service and just cause. Easier and cheaper to offer an incentive to voluntarily leave, than to be kicked out. generally the older more expensive employees leave.
