BOSTON - A Delta Airlines worker was struck and killed by a de-icing truck at Logan International Airport on Tuesday morning.

The unidentified man was walking on the airfield outside Terminal C when the accident occurred at about 6:30 a.m., said Phil Orlandella, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Port Authority, which runs Logan.

The truck was driven by a Delta employee, Orlandella said.

No further information was immediately available.

Delta released a statement in which it expressed sympathy for the friends and family of the victim. It said it could not release information about the victim, pending family notification.
