AirCanada and their new reservation system
vanishing point replied to a topic in Airline Aviation Forum
Not a good time to try and check-in for a d/h YVR-YUL for tomorrow morning. Seems like the site is a bit busy at the moment... "This site says... The system is currently experiencing high volumes of traffic. We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again in 30 minutes. (Err: 10001)" -

Worker Takes a Risk to protect an Aircraft
vanishing point replied to a topic in Airline Aviation Forum
I say good on him for quick thinking and preventing further damage. Sometimes you just have to react and not waste time thinking about the repercussions. If the catering vehicle had just been allowed to spiral out of control and crashed into the aircraft, there will be cries of “Why didn’t someone DO something?” -

777x Door Blows Off During Testing
vanishing point replied to deicer's topic in Airline Aviation Forum
I can’t offer a video of the door blowing out but here’s one from a few years ago showing the 777 wing undergoing testing. Impressive to say the least... -
777x Door Blows Off During Testing
vanishing point replied to deicer's topic in Airline Aviation Forum
As deicer asks, it would be enlightening to know how much pressure was on the airframe when the door blew off.....but then that wouldn’t be nearly as news-worthy -
I don’t believe this is a competition. All Max operators have been hit hard.
