  1. Good Morning Deicer and Boestar: I enjoyed your responses with your ramp stories and with regards to the "rumble" deicer it was audible in the flight deck until the packs were selected on after the start. Boestar thank you for the remarks as this must have happened after I moved on to the 9. The bang start must have been fun to watch as well and I guess Transport didn't record that one.......... The link is about the L-1011 model in Eastern livery and this time he has added a camera to record his flying at sunset. Looking over the wing reminded me of being a passenger and on touch down ground spoiler deployment. I guess his next project will be installing Direct Lift Control (DLC) which made the L-1011 a treat to fly on approach. Enjoy the link. https://youtu.be/rjhR3V-XpLE
  2. Good Afternoon Junior: In your post above you made mention of W0X0F by any chance are you the new iteration of same??
  3. Good Evening Seeker: Why use 4 rounds when it only takes one. I have forgot some ballistic tables but a .303 is a through and through whereas the newer .223 ammunition although supersonic on hitting starts a shock wave that turns internal organs to mush and will "tumble" because of its mass on entry with the other three in trail will turn your target into "ground chuck" on the hoof. Yes I know of a couple of people who use muskets just because they can You are absolutely right one shot will do it so why multiples of as a single shot requires more skill?
  4. Good Evening Deicer: How about the air start of a DC-8-40? We could even hear that at the north end of YYZ.
  5. Good Morning Seeker: Well said +1 I am very old school bolt action 303 or lever action 30-30 with iron sights as if you need a semi-auto with a scope you shouldn't be in the bush?
  6. Good Evening Deicer: Thank you for posting this as yes I am a "Tritanic" fan. It was fun in YUL on M30C days EAL Mtce would ground run their RON aircraft first thing around 06:00 for about 5 minutes just to get the core temperature up which helped against "oil hiding". We always had the "pleasure" of starting an ice cold airplane then experience "oil hiding" where the oil quantity would go to 0 and one would have to wait for the quantity to return to 4 quarts under the level before start. If not one would experience high vibrations whicch meant a in-flight shutdown... Seeing the push back tractor reminded me of my first experience in ZRH as it really got your attention when the nose was raised up before pushback. It was much faster then then using a tow bar for pushback. I think it was the Swiss who invented the tractor but I could be mistaken. Thanks again for the memories.....
  7. Good Morning All: Another very interesting R/C model the Messerschmitt ME-163 Komet https://youtu.be/f38vA74V9K8
  8. Good Evening Doubledouble: With what has gone on so far what is your recommendation for dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic which has hit the world just as hard as the Influenza pandemic post WW1. Are you in favour of letting it burn through society to achieve herd immunity? Yes there have been break through events of those who have been vaccinated but they do not need to go to hospital and the results are not as severe as those who are not vaccinated ie death. In Mississippi a couple of days ago a news report about a 64 year old heart attack victim could not find a ICU bed in state or out of state who eventually died. Looking forward to you reply on how one manages this and makes sure the population survives this
  9. Good Morning GDR: Or another way of looking at this is that the science is evolving as this goes on....
  10. Good Afternoon Deicer: Is this what one would call a posthumous Darwin Award???
  11. Good Afternoon Skeptic: Well said and spoken from the heart and brain +1
  12. Good Evening All: Some humour.....
  13. Good Afternoon Upper Deck: No worries I was just trying to insert some badly needed humour as it appeared a few were getting wound up. I appreciate your thoughts as this COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation which has not had the time for scientific peer review of new medicines. Until sanctioned I will stick to what my Doctor prescribes. Contrary to friend Seeker I do read the links provided but I am biased if it is not from Lancet, CMA or CDC but that is just me as I spent way too much time following procedures in the AOM, FCOM etc but I digress
  14. Good Afternoon Seeker: This is much better thank you. I must admit I have a substantial bias towards anything Russia from MH-17, Crimea, Eastern Ukraine KAL 007 Katyn Massacre to name a few but thats just me
  15. Good Afternoon Upper Deck It was meant to be a light hearted look at the anti-vax movement and those who do not look beyond the rhetoric. Last time I checked COVID-19 was a upper respiratory disease not a exclusive gastro intestinal disease.
  16. Good Afternoon Seeker: I trust that you realize rt.com is Russia Today and if they ever said the sun rises in the east and sets in the west it would still warrant a two source check but I digress
  17. Good Evening All: A rather informative clip on Ivermectin in which all should be interested in. https://youtu.be/HLtCBvKI_Mc
  18. Good Afternoon Jaydee: No worse then wearing your RAIC pass inside a secure area it just shows who belongs and who doesn't
  19. Good morning, all: I still find it hard to imagine that there are people that still think COVID-19 is either inconsequential or a hoax. It is as serious as a heart attack and should be treated in the same light. For those who have a hard time with this please go to the hyperlink below for review. This is put together by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). I trust that you will find this as sobering as I do. https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
  20. Good morning, Seeker: Thank you for your very candid forthright reply in which I think is the true measure of a gentleman and leader. That is to be comfortable with one’s self to the point of when one makes a mistake when notified to own up and correct it. What you have is remind us all to try to maintain a high standard of decorum in our forum. As my friends in the senior service would say BRAVO ZULU. 330 sends
  21. Good evening Seeker: With reference to the Israel cases of what is referred to as a “break through” infection is yes it has happened but I should add is that those who are infected the severity of the infection is such that they are not in hospital or more importantly not in ICU. By this definition the vaccine is doing what it is supposed to. My source was BBC World Service and later I will do my best to retrieve that information for you. Now with regards to the claim of injury/adverse reactions please use the following link from the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). As of today, worldwide there have been 5,275.138,979 total vaccine doses administered world wide. My question to you is this if this is as you claim to be a problem why hasn’t this been picked up and disseminated world wide? More importantly how many world-wide agencies would you have to enlist to make this under reporting happen? In my thinking there are too many moving pieces in play to make this happen especially given the current world politics. My other question to you is given the deadly nature of this disease why do you want to denigrate other posters who have offered contrary posts to you such as in the “Free to Fly” on the other side and this side of the forum? I realize you have taken a contrary view in which I will respect but don’t let your karma be consumed by your dogma. https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
  22. Only one major typo in the article it states Trump was never in Canada but he was at the G-7 meeting hosted by Trudeau
  23. Good Afternoon Jaydee: From HBO the Bill Maher video https://youtu.be/I8LxraECD5E
  24. Good Afternoon Rascal: A excellent rant especially form someone facing your health situation. Although I am required not to disclose my medical courier work you will be happy to know I am a member of a group that goes around the world for stem cells. Our group plays a rather exquisite game of beat the clock as they are viable for 36 hours from harvesting to infusion. So far our group has been as far as Singapore and Cape Town which gives you a idea on how long our duty day can be. Now as a cancer patient you are aware of the CART-T program in which CRSP-R technology is used to rework molecular make up of Stem Cells in order to identify and kill off specific tumour cells. Now to the uninitiated with rather pedestrian knowledge this is almost at the same level as reworking the spike in a COVID-19 virus. I find this ironic that those who decry the MRNA style of vaccine would be beating down the doors to get into a CAR-T program if they were in your shoes Rascal. I literally puke when I hear my rights are being violated so how about the responsibilities that go with same rights? The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. For those who compare this to the Yellow Star for the implantation of the vaccine I would strongly suggest a trip to Yad Vashem, Dachau, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Mila-18 in Warsaw and others so you can truly understand the true meaning of Holocaust/Shoah. In addition the term "Vaccine Passport" should be changed to "Vaccine Certificate" in which I think that would be a welcome change from the highly emotional "Passport"! For those who do not want to get vaccinated your right to do so but please don't expect empathy from front line medical staff when you clog up ICU and close down elective surgery. I must also disclose I am in line for elective surgery and if that is stopped again to protect ICU capacity I will exhibit more contempt for them as a poster earlier called them out as mere morons. I would expect that in the future for the anti-vaxer (crowd) this saying which is posted at airport security will apply "It is your choice not to go through security but going through security is a requirement to go through security to board an aircraft". Rascal stay safe and remember "Illegitimi non carborundum"!
  25. Good Morning Jaydee: I would imagine this will be taught in future history classes.....
