  1. But your imagination is better than ours!
  2. Greg, could you just clarify a few things please. I understand stock and stock options but can't figure out what SAUs and SARs are. I assume that this is some sort of profit sharing? seeker
  3. Haven't seen him around here lately - maybe he's at the meetings himself. If he is I expect a detailed breakdown of who said what. lol.
  4. Ok, thanks. Have any of the 767s been removed from service? If so, where did they go? seeker
  5. Really? I thought it was gone.
  6. Just started re-reading a Canadian classic and was wondering about aircraft 604 - parked in a desert somewhere? Anyone know how many hours or cycles it accumulated before it left?
  7. Actually now may be the best time to switch to a DC plan. The markets aren't doing well now but will likely recover in the next while ( buy low! ).
  8. DB - you will never get more than you expect and it could be less. DC - you may get more you or may get less, it all depends on your own investing skill.
  9. FL410; You seem to be suggesting that you have knowledge about an ACPA proposal. Can you expand on this at all or is it more of a hunch? seeker
  10. That's a slippery slope my friend - start with a job and where do you end up? Just remember that there's no such thing as a selfless act. seeker

  12. Hey! You sound just like manwest.
  13. The way you say that makes me think that it's been said a lot around the crew room in Calgary lately. I wouldn't go out and upgrade the house or car with the idea that the hugh profit sharing cheque will pay for it all. Just wait and see - the pain of AC's restructuring will be felt by the entire industry. seeker
  14. Hi PT: You wrote pretty much the message I sat down here to write. There are no saints on either side of this situation. Lots of missed opportunities to resolve it too. It's funny that almost everyone, ACPA and ALPA, will agree with the general statement that we'd be better off being one group than two. There is, of course, no agreement on how to get there, on what must be sacrificed, by whom in order to cause the other guys to think they've won. We, both sides, have never had a better reason to get together and make a joint proposal that could make this go away forever. Will it happ

  16. Do you really want this thread to go there?
  17. The CFL is a fine institution but to characterize the new partnership as an accomplishment is misleading. I believe that it's a good fit for Westjet and will be an effective advertising stream but the availibilty of this is likely more a function of AC trimming it's advertising budget than anything else, right?
  18. So, it's not really an accomplishment is it?
  19. Does this designation cost, or it bestowed?
  20. My ALPA rep says that they have approached ACPA on several occasions and been rebuffed, so you're right, one side isn't coming clean. Regarding a suitable place to start negotiations: I don't know and don't really feel like exploring the whole thing here again. It's been said here, over and over again, that the situation we ( the AC family ) find ourselves in is so extreme that it will require alot of 'outside the box' type problem-solving to solve. I have always felt that the pilots of AC and the regionals would be better served by being one group working together than two groups at odds
  21. Yes, well, we're all preoccupied. The question is: are we preoccupied with the right thing?
  22. Kinda hard to sit down if ACPA won't return the phone calls, no? How would you arrange a meeting?

Ahhhh.....the "arguement" spelling was intentional, yah that's the ticket. lol. If you get a chance, look up a book by Antony Flew ( 'Antony' is correct here ) called " How to Think Straight". It's not an easy read but goes quite deep into reasoning and clear thinking. He gives many examples of flawed arguments, the difference between contradictory and contrary etc.

Why should we listen to you? You can't even spell irresponsible! LOL. That's joke, in case you didn't get it. I agree with you ACguy. I find it particularly annoying when you have made an strong arguement against some point by another poster and then they just walk away. You'll see them posting to a thread above and never get a response to the one below. Too bad we couldn't have some sort of review system, like ebay, to track how many threads a person had abandoned or ended with a slur. seeker
