Saw this on another forum - Lets hope there are different people at Pearson looking after the airfield

it alkl goes in the same bag at the end of the day anyway.  This just makes people feel like they are doing the right thing.  It is the same at almost every establishment.

Yes, good story.  Anti-vaxxer dies from the Covid.  Gotta love the irony of that.  What about the story of the pro-vaxxer who died from the vaccine?  I make no claim about the relative numbers of "anti" vs "pro" dying from their choice.  VAERS shows thousands of deaths after the vaccine and this number is widely thought to be a gross underrepresentation but, of course we'll never know the truth about whether these deaths were an adverse reaction to the vaccine or just co-incidence and I would certainly never make any claim.  One thing is for sure, you won't see it being reported.

Vaers is about as unreliable as it comes since the data is not vetted.  It is the wikipedia of drug issues.  Can be added to by anyone.  do not consider it a reliable source of data

    That’s a pretty big “if” …

oh I do agree.  Extended downtime should be a non event for an aircraft when the recommendation are followed correctly.  Problem is that in many cases those recommendation are not properly followed.

That's a lot uglier than I expected.  And shouldn't slower traffic keep right?

At that speed would a dead engine (200 hp?) fixed prop still be windmilling?

    that looks like a 140 or 180.

I do not tink the engine was "Dead" I believe his comment was it was not making any power.  It may well idle ok.

    More info …..

Not specific if it was down for Mtc….but wow, that a long time for an a/c to sit!! And then go flying with pax on board…imo.

it may seem like a long time but if the maintenance requirements for shor / long term storage and return to service were followed there should be no issues.

    Good Evening Deicer:

Thank you for posting this as yes I am a "Tritanic" fan.

It was fun in YUL on M30C days EAL Mtce would ground run their RON aircraft first thing around 06:00 for about 5 minutes just to get the core temperature up which helped against "oil hiding". We always had the "pleasure" of starting an ice cold airplane then experience "oil hiding" where the oil quantity would go to 0 and one would have to wait for the quantity to return to 4 quarts under the level before start. If not one would experience high vibrations whicch meant a in-flight shutdown...

Seeing the push back tractor reminded me of my first experience in ZRH as it really got your attention when the nose was raised up before pushback. It was much faster then then using a tow bar for pushback. I think it was the Swiss who invented the tractor but I could be mistaken.

    Thanks again for the memories.....

we got in the habit of idling the engines before the crew showed up.  Some days just a dry motor was all that was required.

It is herd mentality that drags us down.

I respectfully disagree.  A strong herd is healthy and thrives.  When the weak and sick are allowed to remain part of the heard, it is slowly decayed until overcome and eventually wiped out.

The sick, spread disease to the rest of the herd and when left unchecked will kill the majority of it.  The weak and sick are breeding grounds for disease and again left unchecked those diseases will mutate and become more virulent.

It is not the Herd Mentality that brings us down, it is not learning from nature that brings us down.   We may be one of the most advanced species on the planet but we are not the dominant one.

    no.  Survival of the fittest.

In the natural order the weak and old naturally die off.  Humans are the only species that artificailly prolongs life "unnaturally"  This leads to the overall weakness of the species.  It also make us vulnerable.

Far too intense. John's expression of opinion or Harry's is of interest and keeps me occupied but otherwise is irrelevant.

So...just to excite those brain cells or to provoke contrarian thought....let me ask this:

In nature, culling of the herd by disease or vulnerability to predators is considered desirable. The survivors are more disease-resistant and stronger. When "we" undertake species protection, culling by permit becomes necessary to control the population because it is generally accepted that controlling population is to the ultimate benefit of the herd.

Leaving aside an omniscient being...."God"....is it beyond possibility that the human population requires control and that lethal diseases etc are essential to the ultimate survival of mankind?

Are we "toying" with a grand design? Bear in  mind that GENERALLY, Covid has been a contributing cause of death to individuals who were pre-disposed; had compromised immune systems or co-morbidities such as obesity-related vulnerabilities including diabetes.

Of course, from a religious perspective, God gave us the will and ability to develop defenses so.....

Okay, okay...in vino veritas...but I remember the "joke" when Aids became known; God said I gave you herpes but you wouldn't listen. Now I give you AIDS.

This is why the human race is suffering.  We found a way to circumvent natural selection and keep the sick and slow alive and allowed them to breed.  This has severely weakened the herd.  It is a first world problem.  Problem is that thte first world is now supporting the third world in the same manner.

We cannot, as a species, evolve and grow when the herd is slowly dragging us all down.

    Exactly what IS "Moraphine"?

Sometimes these forums and the exchanges therein become......less than informative. Boestar....I know you were referring to morphine...tongue-in-cheek.

Ivermectin in combination with other drugs has been shown to reduce the severity of Covid infections and the need for hospitalization. There were a number of studies done about a year ago that indicated "high confidence".

What is now claimed about the Pfizer vaccine and others? They reduce the severity of infection.

Deicer and others deride the use of Ivermectin. What inanity!! Do I know anything about the drug other than what I have read? Of course not but at least I "read" rather than scanned social media for humourous memes.

Just over a year ago, a pilot I know was infected with Covid as was his wife whose mother died as a result of infection. His wife became a "long-timer". He decided, after some research, to take this ivermectin combo. He quickly recovered. Was that due to the drug? Who knows.

He forwarded the research paper to me and I sent it on to a physician acquaintance who in turn circulated it among a medical group of which he was a participant.

The results were mixed but it was generally accepted that there was a reasonable degree of confidence that Ivermectin might significantly reduce symptoms without adverse effects.

Personally, were I to be infected, I'd welcome any medication likely to reduce symptoms.

The elimination of tapeworms would be a bonus! Lol

Don't get me wrong.  I am sure it can reduce "Symptoms" but it does not do anything for the underlying infection.  In fact the vaccine doesn't either.  The Vaccine is prophylaxis not cure.

I too would welcome any treatment available.  The problem is there would be no money in it for the drug supplier.  Why use off the shelf medication when you can make millions from something new.

    Guys...

    Please...question EVERYTHING!!

This recent blowup about Ivermectin comes about because people were buying the product at livestock suppliers. Obviously, the dosages were a LOT higher for livestock so people became ill.

Ivermectin is a widely used medication for parasitic infections like ringworm. Taken at a dosage appropriate for humans, it's harmless.

It is "off label" for treatment of a viral infection but there are many very capable physicians who believe it is therapeutic.

The issue with Ivermectin is that it treats the symptoms NOT the cause.  It is theraputic in that the dying patient is more comfortable.  Moraphine would work too ?

Some of the looney fringe of the FA group are doing their own thing rather than joining Free to Fly.  I'd have thought the groups would be stronger together but perhaps they can't agree on what needs to be done about the microchips that are being snuck into the vaccines or on what type of tin hat should be worn for protection.  Or maybe they differ on what dosage of horse de-wormer to recommend as prophylaxis.

Oh, and the FA group alleges criminality too.  LOL.

    ok then

Due to you not revealing your vaccination status you shall not be allowed to operate flights to any destination that requires a vaccination for Covid, yellow fever, WPV, Malaria, BiH,Polio.

As an international worker these requirements are set in place by the countries to which the airline operates.  If you can not meet those requirements then you can operate YYZ-YSB 3 days a week for the rest of your career because working around your irrational fear of health privacy is not in the best interest of the company.

  13. I got thinking bout the conspiracy theories the other day and It kind of made me chuckle.

Here is a theory that actually make more sense if you were the guy calling the shots.

    1) introduce a pandemic that, while harmful, is not enough to cause uncontrollable spread in the long run.

    2) introduce a "Vaccine" for said pandemic.  This vaccine would also prevent infection for a yet undisclosed / unreleased pathogen

    3) vaccinate the population where the most compliant people will get vaccinated.

    4) release undisclosed pathogen into the wild thereby infecting only the unvaccinated (non compliant) portion of the population.

    5) reduce the population of the planet while at the same time removing a high percentage of the non-compliant population.

Why does this make more sense than what the current conspiracies are saying?

well the current thinking leave the population with only the righteous non-compliant which would only lead to anarchy in the end.  This way we are left with a compliant population (at least until the truth comes out).

And this my friends is why I laugh at conspiracy theories.

  14. this has nothing to do with the "Right to fly" (which is not a right under the charter) and everything to do with wanting to get back to work and make money.

you have the right to freedom of movement but the method is not covered except for by 2 feet and a heartbeat

  15. 15 hours ago, Seeker said:

    Wrong.

might I suggest you read the charter and look at the ORDER that the rights are presented.  Right to life is the top one that cannot be infringed by ANY of the other rights.
