  1. Not offended...Not a pilot either.
  2. Coke: I am not sure what you do for the airline but you should know that we already receive dozens of resumes a week from very experienced people. There are few jobs out there right now. The competition will be alot worse if, god forbid, the worst case scenario happens. You may think you are "all that" but it won't matter a lick when you are up against thousands of others. Good luck B
  3. Coke is just stirring the pot. Don't encourage him. We all know that changes are comming regardless of the outcome tonight. Good Luck to all B
  4. Both...The unions fail to give a little and the financial situation worsens. The company takes too much and causes dissent in the ranks and brings the airline down. Greed is a strange thing everyone suffers from it to some extent. I left AC years ago after the recovery from the last big cuts. I realized that there is a real world out there where I don't have to work nights for the rest of my life. I may not get paid as much as AC but the conditions are better and I have more control of my direction in the company. Management works with us and not against us. There are no unions and if t
  5. WOW....History repeating itself.... If you have been in the business for so long, Why do you not learn from history? How many airlines have failed do to shortsightedness and stubborness? If everyone had that attitude you would have been bankrupt years ago. I have been in the business for 16 years and have learned that AIRLINES FAIL due to GREED. Good Luck to you B
  6. Does it really matter as long as we get the meaning?
  7. I suppose everyone is waiting to hear the news. Anyone hear anything yet? B
  8. Wouldn't it be nice if we could make a difference in the outcome. B
  9. I can get you as far as YHM... B
  10. My post was a cut and paste from Dictionary.com.
  11. The forum is what the people make it. The format has nothing to do with it. It is just easier to follow now. Granted there are some horrible posts, but that goes with anything "internet". Make the best of it. B
  12. irregardless adv : in spite of everything; without regard to drawbacks; "he carried on regardless of the difficulties" [syn: regardless, irrespective, disregardless, no matter, disregarding] B
  13. I made the sarcastic comment to make the point that their are alot more things to worry about right now than who speaks what. The deadline looms in 3 hrs. Is there an agreement yet? NO. Are the unions being over cocky? YES. You guys need to realize that you are not dealing with Air Canada now. You are dealing with international investors. These guys are not afraid to walk in order to cut their losses. I may not work for AC (anymore) but we in the industry will suffer for a long time if AC liquidates. Your world extends beyond the Maple leaf. We are all worried. B
  14. In a few hours it won't matter all the airlines WILL be on a level field....There will be no AIR CANADA. B
  15. No one wants you....or anyone who thinks they are worth more than they are. Enjoy your wait in the line. Get a new attitude (that goes for more than just you). This attitude is hours away from destroying the industry in CAnada. Thanks B
  16. There are several aircraft flying around with cameras in various places around the aircraft. I have installed systems that have cameras mounted on the top of the tail looking down and fwd on the fuse, as well as one in the nose (actually inside the F/O window looking out), and one in the centre fuse between the gear that looks left, right, fwd, aft and down. The video can be displayed in the cabin on the displays as well as the FMS CDU's. It is a very cool system and I can say that is is nice to have when taxiing in tight quarters. Gives a great view of all 3 gear as well. B
  17. I believe the problem is with the TAXES. $300 is not a bad fare but Geeeezzzz...How much do we need to pay above that. It is getting ridiculous. What ever happened to paying the ADVERTISED price. Price the same flight from Buffalo to new york City and you will be surprised I think. I Drove to buffalo to fly to Kansas and saved $600..... After the exchange. This country has it all wrong. B
  18. Normally the TSB (or NTSB) would not be involved if the cowling separated without causing otherissues with the aircraft as the cause of the damage is known and an accident did not ensue. I know personally of two incidents, one on an A340 and one on an A320. I have eard of more but have no information. B
  19. Brake Fluid??????? I hate the media....These guys have no idea what they are talking about half of the time. Hydraulic Fluid would be the correct fluid. To be precise SKydrol or Hyjet. B
  20. Look here for an article reguarding this problem. http://www.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/SystemSa...58/4-00/541.htm
  21. TC has issued notices about this problem. Apparently it is difficult to tell if they are not latched properly. Several airlines hacve had cowlings depart the aircraft. One resulted in severe damage to an a340 H-Stab. The stab required replacement. Airbus flew the stab over in a supertransporter. Cool to see one up close. B
  22. That's cool. Tongueplanted firmly in cheek. B
  23. Remember about 10 or 12 years ago when AC had the "Customer Care" campaign? Pax were awarded monetarily for lousy service or other inconveniences (ie. broken reading light, etc...). That was an absolute mess. AC was giving away tons of money every day. I would love to see AC listening to the customer and treating the customer like WJ and others. Then we would see AC become a truly world class carrier. Without the customer you have nothing. B

Go to the airbus website...There is a listing of ALL surveyed airports that are capable of handling the aircraft. I do know that YYZ is one of them. The information is out there just have to look for it. B
  25. I must say that recent experiences would lead me to agree that Westjet is truly about making the customer happy. The sooner "other" airlines realize that the customer should be treated properly the sooner people will start flying them again. Unfortunately it may be too late for some. B
