  1. It is a shame that the use of the word "guest" is such an irritant for you. Why does the way one company approach customer service become such a semantic hang up that you feel the need to take a shot. Whatever works for you I guest.
  2. How much of the WS decline is part of the overall decline because of the Nortel news?
  3. highly amused at how you are skirting the facts of what you posted instead of retracting your ignorant statement.
  4. BMO's post said the coverage was like the coverage in the OJ trial. It did not say what is happening is like a double murder. Your implication that the espionage is like a rape is what is insensitive and ignorant. You know it is a poor analogy because you offer up a tepid apology but still go ahead and post it. That is what is ignorant. It has everything to do with content and nothing to do with origin.

  6. Instead of using a rape analogy and then qualifying it with a weak ass apology why don't you just remove your comment. It is incredibly ignorant and insesitive.
  7. and this will make you different than the other people who are wrecking the airline industry and might as well go live in China??? Way to argue both sides on the same day!
  8. What is being said in that article is completely idiotic. Once again a person in a union office is coming across as knowing what is best for everyone. He neglects to point out that WJ does in fact have a form of a pension thru their stock purchase plan. Every time I read something like this unions lose even more credibility. The basic messgae is always:rich = bad, poor = good, what a crock. To him if you are non unionized then you are being taken advantage of. Can anyone enlighten me on what exactly WJ has done "to win increasingly bizarre forms of protection against competition from Air Canada" Typical union bluster, a lot of hot air with no facts.
  9. I think he went to the U of Vic if that helps. He got an award from them last year, maybe there is something on the UVIC website?
  10. I am not sure what indications you see that the plan is working, you may see indications that others do not so who am I to argue, your opinion is yours. I think your analysis is off base however. People will travel wherever they can get the best fare, to say that people will come back in droves out of "loyalty" seems to me a misguided opinion. As evidenced by many comments from AC employees on this board it seems that there is still the perception of AC customer service agents being poor in their attitude with the public. What magic elixir is going to turn these people into agents who care about what they are doing? AC was losing market share before CCAA and will continue to do so, at least domestically. RM says there is going to be less focus on domestic ops. What business plan exactly is it that is going to bring people back in droves?
  11. You would think though that if there was something criminal there that AC would pursue it if for no other reason then good public relations. That way Air Canada could have another boogey man to blame along with all the current reasons why they are failing now, union issues, Sars, 9-11, fuel prices, government meddling, Gery Schwarz, etc, instead of the fact that thier business plan simply no longer works.
  12. Well AC can't seem to beat WestJet in the market place so maybe the courts is a good place to try.
  13. No problems or delays yet. I don't know how long the strike will last because as it drags on the replacement fuellers (managers, trainers etc) will get more effecient at the job.
  14. I think to call WS a "niche" company may be a bit off base. They fly coast to coast and are well on their way to being a national player. Between them, Canjet and Jetsgo the domestic market can be well served.
  15. I am not sure a march on Parliament Hill would really be all that effective. Rightly or wrongly a lot of people have the perception that working for AC is not that far off from having a civil service type of job with the same type of benfits. What is the % of unionized workforce in the country anyway? Does the public really have that much empathy with the union movement and it's perceived cronyism and nepotism. In B.C. there was not a whole lot of sympathy towards the workers at BC Ferries when they went on strike. I think this same type of sentiment would be extended to AC employees.
  16. I think the use of the term "guests" may be for more internal reasons than external ones. Re-enforce in the agents minds to treat the people like guets rather than passengers. I doubt most of the flying public notices a difference what they are referred to as.
