    There has been no mention lately of Indigo’s involvement in Enerjet 2.0. I think the Seagrams are still involved but I’m guessing the silence about Indigo is telling.
  2. So they should have predicted the Global pandemic when they first announced LGW? They should have predicted a future Codeshare with Virgin being moved entirely to LHR due to the pandemic? They should have predicted that most international carriers would stop service to LGW? Thanks AIP for highlighting another WJ failure. If only they were more visionary.
  3. I think their meaning is regionally Quebec based. They aren’t experts in the terms we use and might have been lost in translation. It doesn’t discount the text in the article but I’d rather hear it from someone other than TVA who have been against the deal from the beginning.
  4. It may come down to a retaliatory stance from China to not buy from the US while still giving them access to 787’s. They’re not playing the short game.
  5. Smart move. If (when?) Norwegian ceases operations BOC will have access to a large number of 787’s which may be difficult to acquire if the US/China trade war escalates. If Norwegian manages a recovery then their investment will payoff.
  6. I think that they’ll still make a profit as the heavy checks would be encompassed in the cargo conversion anyway. The question is are the next 787’s just replacements or will the options be exercised once the Onex sale goes through?
  7. Having 60% of the Transatlantic market and more than 90% market share of the market among Canadian Airlines doesn’t seem like it would be in the public interest. AC thinking they could roll this through easily seems somewhat misguided. The end result isn’t going to be what AC thought they were buying so it’ll be interesting to see if they follow through on the share offering if they are forced to divest some assets.
  8. They have plenty of cash but are leveraging the balance sheet and existing credit history to use other people’s money to fund the purchase. Whether this turns into a good thing or not for the employees remains to be seen. It however worries me that further expansion will be funded by more debt issues.

  10. My money is on WJ. I hear this whole Max thing has the board concerned about not having a diversified fleet. One AD and your entire business could be impacted.
  11. No terminal. No security. No customs. Premature press release which seems to be the way this company is rolling things out. A well capitalized startup wouldn’t have issues with things like actually starting. They’re going to get eaten by Enerjet or whatever they roll the brand out when they silently startup without five years of press releases.

  13. Charlotte NC is a huge hub for American. They move 25 million people through there a year. From a city smaller than Calgary with a population of 800,000. Sometimes it’s not about the city itself.
  14. That is a very short runway for a 737-800. 6000’. Not much room for error although which makes undershooting the runway plausible.
  15. I think we've been in the "big leagues" for some time now. Why does every issue and change at WJ elicit this response every single time?
  16. I don't think the DEC's will have much of a leg to stand on to sue given that they were hired in the midst of an unfair labour suit. If they end up BOTL it will be simply from a base bid not unlike any other base bid which has displaced pilots at any other airline. If they were to be dismissed outright I think they'd have a better chance of going through a grievance process. Right now they are being "used" simply to ensure a successful startup and shouldn't take that to mean their services as DEC's are secure going forward.
  17. I wonder if they'll create a pilot base in Canada like they have in the US? Things are about to get interesting although their expansion is precarious if there was a downturn in the world economy.

  19. It might be "salaried" but a 24 or 48 hour layover means that credit loss has to be made up for sometime in the month which significantly impacts fatigue. Same with low credit pairings.
  20. I stand corrected. That was pretty low but the crew made the right call to go around. There are many elements that could cause them to end up in that position with wind shear being among them. With isolated heave rain showers and high terrain it could be a possibility.
  21. I would say two photos showing height at a particular location which coincide with publicly available flight data beat a suspect photo showing wake on the water and a passenger's account.
