  1. Putting political correctness aside. Race, religion and ethnic origin absolutely have an effect on one’s qualifications. These things influence decisions that a politicians/ people make everyday, but doesn’t mean that they are or aren’t “qualified”. In the Liberal party if you are a MP under Trudeau and you told him “ I am a born again Christian and I am pro life (anti-abortion)”, you would definitely not be a cabinet minister and likely not be able to run again as a Liberal. You certainly would not qualify for government funding. Regardless he can’t do any worse than Garneau.

  3. Interesting that people associate race, religion and ethnic origin with Qualifications for a position. I am more concerned that yet another MBA will be making decisions. MBA's to date in aviation have a poor track record. Thank you Dagger and Malcom for a proper response

  7. I'm surprised that someone who has been such a strong supporter of Donald Trump actually cares whether politicians are qualified for their positions.

  13. Interesting.... “ The son of a New York City judge was arrested Tuesday on federal charges connected to his role in a riot by supporters of President Donald Trump at the U.S. Capitol last week. The man, Aaron Mostofsky, was clad in furs when invaded the Capitol with thousands of other rioters, and stole a riot shield and bullet-proof vest belonging to Capitol police during the incident, according to a criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn, New York. Mostofsky, 34, told The New York Post in an interview last week that he was motivated to storm the halls of Congress with others because of his belief that Trump was swindled out of a presidential electoral victory by ballot fraud. A video interview of Mostofsky shows him carrying the riot shield and wearing the police vest. The items, which he also was seen in possession of in photos on his Instagram account, are valued at more than $2,100, according to the complaint. Mostofsky, who was busted in New York at his brother’s house, is the son of Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Shlomo Mostofsky, a prominent member of the Orthodox Jewish community who was elected to the bench last year on the Democratic ballot line.”

  15. Interesting how Trudeau’s besties from 15 years ago not only manage to be elected, but end up as cabinet ministers! Oreagan an Miller jump out and, of course, Butts is lurking in the background. I wonder how many of the leftovers have lucrative federal positions.

  16. Garneau is not planning to run again and will retire. Trudeau indicated he wants cabinet ministers that will be involved long term. Nothing more than that. We may not agree on Garneau's actions but when he did pick a mission, good or bad depending on your position, he got it done.
