Cut & Paste

DEFCON

Recommended Posts

Don Hudson made a simple suggestion on here a decade or so ago which resolved certain site related frustrations of the time; create your message off site and then cut and paste it in to avoid losing your work to gremlins etc.

As it is, I'm unable to cut and paste in the manner described above and now that you've mentioned it JO, I tried and am unable to cut and paste quotes from within the site either.

I've always used the IE browser W5 and never had a problem with it.

As I stated before, it is a software problem with the hosting website. There is a simple, I'm told, fix that can be made, Admin has just not done it yet.

When posting, if you click on the top right button, "BBCode Mode", it opens up your msg and you can paste whatever you need to. Click it again and it returns you to the 'original' mode and your post will post normally.

This is what I have been using since the crossover and I have had no problems...

FWIW

:)

Deicer has come up with the answer that works for me. Thank you very much!

Ok, I click on it and it comes up "special BBCode" and asks you to select from a drop down box. What do you select? It didn't open up my post it went to a new pop up box.

I am using IE11 and don't get any drop down box, just the ability to quote post. I am using AEF Theme.

OK, here is my latest try, but it was the top left button that got me this far, it still doesn't show up in a quote box though, or identify the original poster.

mo32a. Just press that left button and then go to the post you want to quote and press quote. That should put the quote into your new message.

Admin, here is a possible solution to the copy/paste problem when using IP boards.

One of those links should work, I had a little trouble cutting and pasting........

Yes the "left button" works, but there is no reason not to be able to use the normal operation.
