Duties and Responsibilities:


Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures;
Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems;
Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems;

Qualifications:


Completion of secondary school is required;
A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility;
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's (AME) license issued by Transport Canada or USA licensing authority for US bases;
Ability to work on a permanent basis in country of employment (Canada/USA);
Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and successfully complete the company screen process.

Purpose: To safely and efficiently maintain WestJet’s fleet of aircraft.

Description:

• Exercise privileges of Aircraft Certification Authority in respect to WestJet's aircraft
• Accurate completion of required paperwork with respect to the aircraft in accordance with Airworthiness Certification Authority
• Provide instruction and leadership for any mechanic or apprentice working within your maintenance activity
• Designated Inspector in the absence of the Inspector
• Ensure the Company's best interest, as defined in the company code of conduct, is maintained

Qualifications:

• Receipt of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License, M2 rating required
• Minimum 2 years experience on large transport aircraft (Boeing 737 or equivalent type of aircraft) required
• Endorsement on large Transport aircraft - Boeing 737NG Series is preferred
• Broad range of experience including electrical, navigation, flight controls, etc is required
• Ability to work shift work and overtime
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as, climb, kneel, and crawl frequently in tight spaces
• Strong computer skills using various Maintenance programs and Microsoft Office Applications
• Excellent ability to multitask & handle changing priorities under extreme pressure
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to obtain DA (Valid G drivers license and clean driver’s abstract) and D license
• Must be able to obtain a Radio License with in 6 months of employment with WestJet as per our company policy
• Must be able to obtain an Airport Restricted Area Pass issued by Transport Canada
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
